Question: 10 points difficulty 45 a simplysupported beam is subjected to...

Question details

(10 points) Difficulty (4/5)

A simply-supported beam is subjected to the forces shown below. The dimensions of the beam and the values of the forces are:

a = 4.7 m
b = 4.4 m
c = 4.3 m
F = 5 kN
w = 3.2 kN/m

Determine the support reactions at the left and rights supports. Determine the maximum bending moment and the location along the length of the beam where the maximum bending moment occurs. Given that the stress in the beam cannot exceed 676 MPa and the beam has a rectangular cross-section with a thickness of 3.4 cm, determine the minimum height of the beam.
