The concentration of N20 as measured at South Pole Station in Antarctica (T 28 °F, z 0.015 km) is slightly smaller, 330.28. Calculate the the number density of N2O at Mauna Loa Observatory and at South Pole Station. You can assume that h = 7.4 km. (Point of interest: Mauna Loa Observatory has the longest, continuous, direct measurements of atmospheric N20 concentrations in the world!) (5 pts) 7. The concentration of CH4 at Mauna Loa is 1863 ppm but at South Pole Station it is only 1807 ppm. Discuss what the N20 (from the previous problem) and CHa measurements can tell us about (i) the atmospheric lifetimes of the two species (i.e. which is longer) and (ii) what the measurements suggest about the methane source strength in the northern hemisphere versus the southern hemisphere (4 pts)
