Question: a confined aquifer with a constant thickness of 10 m...

Question details

A confined aquifer with a constant thickness of 10 m dips to the west. An observation well has a pressure transducer located at the bottom of the well (which coincides with the bottom of the aquifer) with a pressure reading of 45 psi. Another well located 100 m directly to the east also has a pressure transducer located at the bottom of the well (which coincides with the bottom of the aquifer) with the pressure reading of 31 psi. The bottom of the second well is 10 m less than the bottom of the first well.

Provide values of head for each well. Determine (a) direction of flow and (b) specific discharge if K= 2.5 m/d.
