a. How can Process Control charts, Pareto diagrams and C&E diagrams be used to identify and solve quality problems at a hotel?
Before answering, make sure you understand the correct usage for a PCC, a Pareto chart and C&EDiagrams.
Some hints: A PCC has nothing to do with determining if a process is making good parts or providing a service to some standard.
Between the Pareto and C&E diagram, one is used when you don't know what the problem is and you want to find it, while the other is used once you know the problem and want to solve it.
b. For each of the three tools, give a specific example of how each tool could be used in a hotel setting. If you were the hotel manager and were not aware of what the problems were or the magnitude of each, what tool(s) would you start out with implementing?
