Question details
A rain gauge can be used to measure the rate of rainfall at a weather station. At a tropical weather station, rain falls at approximately the same time each day. We model this by approximating the rate of rainfall by a periodic function of time t: r(t) = 3(1 − cos(2πt)) where t is measured in fractions of a day since midnight. Calculate the total (cumulative) rainfall between times 0 and t.
