Question: a wastewater treatment plant uses chlorine gas as a reactant...

Question details

A wastewater treatment plant uses chlorine gas as a reactant. A tank is filled with 800 m3 of 20°C water, and chlorine is added at a dosage of 125 g per cubic meter of water. (Assume all of the chlorine dissolves and none initially reacts chemically.) Henry's law constant for the chlorine is 15.2 atm. If the atmospheric pressure is 1.0 atm, what is the theoretical partial pressure of the chlorine gas at the tank surface immediately after the gas is added?
