Assume burning of a gas with the composition (by volume) of: 60% CH4, 30% C2H6, 10% H2S. Assume combustion at E=50% excess oxygen with air that is 79% N2, 21% O2 by volume. Assume complete combustion of fuel to CO2, H2O, and SO2.

(a) Find the concentration of SO2 in the post-combustion gases.

(b) Repeat part (a), but assume the gas composition is: 60% CH4, 20% C2H6, 10% H2S, 10% O2

(c) Assume conditions of part 1(a), but assume additionally some N2 reacts with O2 to produce 1,000 ppm in the combustion products to form 1,000 ppm NO. Find the fraction of N2 that reacts to form the NO.
