Question: assume c2 1000 pf assume r2 and r1 will...
Question details
Assume C2 = 1000 pF. Assume R2 and R1 will be standard 1% resistors. Determine the values for R2, R1, and C1 such that:
- the nominal midband gain is -2 V/V
- the target 3 dB bandwidth of this circuit is 20 Hz to 20 kHz (audio range)
- the midband input resistance is > 1 kΩ
When you determine the value for C1, for your actual component size selection, round its value to the nearest practical value, e.g. 5.3 uF would round to 5.0 uF.
Draw a schematic of your design, indicating the component values.
Next, assume that the capacitors can vary as much as 5% from their nominal values and that the resistors can vary as much as 2% from their nominal values (due to aging, temperature variation, etc). These are called worst-case values. Determine the range of the nominal midband gain assuming worst-case variation in the resistors. In Addition, determine the range of actual 3 dB bandwidth that could be expected, assuming worst-case variation in the component values. Give the expected minimum and maximum values for the Upper (~20 kHz) 3dB frequency and the expected minimum and maximum values for the Lower (~20 Hz) 3dB frequency.
