Each of the reinforced concrete structures shown below is subjected to uniformly distributed downward load along entire length of the beam. Assume that the applied load is sufficiently high to cause cracking. Without doing any calculations, do the following for each of the beams: (a) Draw the bending moment diagram shape. (b) Draw the cracking pattern at failure (c) Draw the deflected shape at failure (i.e. after cracking occurs). (d) Would the structure collapse as a result of this failure (i.e. would the structure be stable)? e) What would you suggest for reinforcement placement to have better performance?
