Assume that the runoff ratio (the ratio of runoff to precipitation) is 0.3 for the watershed under investigation. What is the mean monthly runoff from the watershed that could be captured by your rainwater harvesting system? Calculate two different estimates using the arithmetic average, and the Thiessen method to calculate average rainfall amounts. You can calculate the area controlled by each gage by summing up the squares in the polygons. Each square has an area of 2 km2 and the numbers on the map indicate the precipitation measured at each rain gage.
