Exercise 1-8 et d22 be an integer, and let w(d) denote the number of distinct primes that divide d (e.g. (a) Prove that the number of solutions (a, b) to the equation ab d, where a, b are coprime positive integers, (b) Find a similar expression for the number of solutions to the equation ab-2d2, where a,b are coprime positive integers. c) Prove that the number of solutions to the equation ab d3, where a, b are positive integers (not necessarily coprime), is 2 4(d)
