Question details

In your view is antiscience/anti-intellectualism a problem or do these documents express a pro science bias? Can you support your position with data, observation, polls, etc?  Do you agree with Pigluicci that we are an anti-intellectual society and that this is the reason why Americans have difficulty with science. Can you provide specific examples of how anti-intellectualism (in any of its forms) has influenced your personal experiences on this issue? In general, why do you think there is this battle over scientific conclusions such as evolution, climate change or other topics like stem cells or even vaccines? Is there a greater conflict driving this or is there something else going on? This battle has become a political issue with the two major political parties taking sides on these various scientific controversies. Therefore do you think your political philosophy influences your opinion on these scientific controversies? Most importantly- comment on whether this conflict is something society should be concerned about and explain why? Share your thoughts in no less than 500 words.
