Question: initially the piston contains 18 kg of argon at 128...

Question details

Initially, the piston contains 1.8 kg of Argon at 128 kPa and 15 degree celcius. A heater is attached to device and heat up, raises the piston until it hits the stop. The volume of the end is twice than initial volume. Then, the heater continuously transferred the heat until the pressure is triples. The heater is turn off and piston is returned to its initial position according to polytrophic process. Determine:-

i) Work Done for each process
ii) Amount heat transfer
iii) P-V diagram for whole process

Assume that the device is frictionless, not affected by surroundings and uses constant specific heat at room temperature.
Polytropic index for Argon, n = 1.667
