- For her third experiment, the PhD student hypothesises that a delay between testing sessions would lead to higher pointing errors. To test this hypothesis, she recruits 38 participants from the Bond subject pool and tests them in two experimental sessions. On the first day of testing (session 1), participants are asked to navigate the Viking Village and learn the position of the eight target locations. Immediately after the learning phase, participants are tested on their ability to point to different locations in the virtual environment. After completing the pointing test, she asks participants to go home and come back the following day for another round of testing. On the second day (session 2), participants do not complete the learning but are tested on their ability to point to the different locations in the Viking Village from memory. On both days, the PhD student records the pointing error for each participant. Pointing error is measured in degrees with higher angles indicative of lower performance.
Plus what would the null and alternative hypotheses be?
