Outcome - Can I explain, in broad terms, how mathematics might be applied to contexts outside the discipline of Mathematics

 

1.     How big of a problem is garbage in Australia? Can mathematics help? E.g. you might have a go at estimating the volume of garbage thrown out by Australians over the course of one year.

 

(I checked and from 2016-2017, Australia generated 67 million tonnes of garbage)
