Question details

Calculation of incline angle for different heights

1. Rather than using a protractor to find the angle of the incline you will calculate the angle of the incline by using the height of the ramp and its length.

a) Draw a diagram showing your measurements used to calculate the angle of incline (which your ramp makes with the horizontal). (1 Mark)

b) In the space below calculate the angle of your five heights in degrees. Record the angles (2 Marks)

c) Explain why you were instructed to calculate the angle rather than use a protractor to determine the angle. (You may want to use a protractor to determine the angle and compare the results.) (2 Marks)
