Question details

1. Consider the incompressible viscous flow of oil between two infinitely long parallel plates separated by a distance 2d. The flow is steady, incompressible and fully developed. The top plate is stationary. The bottom plate is moving at a constant velocity, U, in the direction of the plate as shown in the figure above. No pressure gradient on this configuration. Neglect gravity. Use the coordinate system shown in figure 丶ㄟㄟㄟ丶丶丶 1a) Reduce the NS equation into a form to solve the problem. 1b) give the boundary conditions required to solve the problem 1c) Show integration of reduced equation 1d) Apply boundary conditions to equation 1e) write the final expression for velocity distribution. 1f) Obtain an expression for the shear stress acting on the top plate in terms of U, d, and the oil viscosity, H. 1g) Obtain an expression for the shear stress acting at a point y-+0.1d in terms of U, d, and the oil viscosity, . 1h) Draw velocity profile on figure 2. Repeat problem #1 for the same configuration but with both walls stationary and a pressure gradient in the x direction of dp/dx applied to it. 3, Repeat problem #1 for the configuration shown in the figure below. ixd WallPlease answer 1,2 and 3. Thanks!
