Assume that both masses are moving d) e) f) Draw a free-body diagram and an acceleration diagram for each of the two masses. At the instant the masses are released, what is the tension, T, in the cord? Is the acceleration of ma larger, smaller, or the same as it would be if the two masses were not connected? g What would you expect the tension in the cord to be if the two friction coefficients were equal?
