Question: the air temperature on a clear night is observed to...

Question details

The air temperature on a clear night is observed to remain at about 4°C. Yet water is reported to have frozen that night due to radiation effect. Taking the convection heat trans- fer coefficient to be 18 Wm2.K, determine the value of the maximum effective sky tempcrature that night. Take the emissivity of the ice to be 1.0. Do not use the effective sky temperature equation to do this problem, use an energy balance on the ice. Note that the ice temperature needs to be 0°C
