The plates also have identical material properties. We are interested in the steady state solution to this problem, so we will only concern ourselves with the thermal conductivity of the material, k. We wish to solve for the steady-state temperature distribution in the plates. Because of the symmetry in the problem, we can solve just one side and assume the temperature distribution looks the same on the other side.
