4. A U-tube manometer is attached to a circular Schedule 40 steel pipe as shown below. The interior diameter at (1) is 2 is in nominal and the interior diameter at (2) is 1 in nominal. The contraction has an angle of 60°, θ 30°, and z is 1 ft. The differential fluid is Mercury and the fluid in the pipe is water, flowing from (1) to (2) Δ¡s 1 .5 ft. Ignore major losses due to friction and solve for Q. Drawing is not to scale. You can use a k 0.4 for the contraction.
